Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and Before You Sign ("we", "us"). By creating an account or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy, Financial Disclaimer, and Document Upload & Data Handling Notice. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Before You Sign is an educational software tool that reviews information you enter or upload about a car deal, estimates its total cost and financing impact, and produces a report and negotiation content. Before You Sign is not a dealership, lender, broker, insurer, credit-repair company, credit bureau, law firm, tax adviser, financial adviser, or government agency. Nothing in the Service is legal, tax, lending, or financial advice.

• You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding contract to create an account or purchase paid features.
• You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you enter and the documents you upload.
• Keep your login credentials confidential; you are responsible for activity under your account.
• One person per account. Do not share credentials.

You agree not to:

• Upload documents you are not authorized to possess or share.
• Upload another person's identification, payment-card, or bank-login credentials.
• Use the Service to harass a business or person, or to break any law.
• Attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, or overload the Service, or use it to build a competing product.
• Represent the Service's estimates or reports as certified appraisals, professional advice, or dealership-approved figures.

Paid features may be offered as one-time purchases or recurring subscriptions. Prices, features, and billing intervals are shown at checkout. Payments are processed by our payment provider; we do not receive or store your full card number. Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel from Billing. Refunds are handled per our Refund Policy.

You retain ownership of the deal information and documents you provide. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to store and process them solely to operate the Service for you — for example, to generate your report, extract structured fields, and let you download or share your own reports. We do not use your uploaded documents to train public AI models.

Deal Scores, savings estimates, and every calculation in the Service are estimates based on the data you provide and general market assumptions. They may contain errors and should be independently verified against your final signed paperwork and your lender's disclosures. We do not guarantee any particular negotiation outcome, dealership approval, financing rate, insurance outcome, or savings amount.

The Service relies on third parties (cloud hosting, payment processing, AI extraction, email delivery). Their availability and terms are outside our control. Links to dealership sites or other resources are provided for convenience only; we do not endorse them.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BEFORE YOU SIGN WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE, OR US$100, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

You may stop using the Service and close your account at any time from Delete Account. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we reasonably believe are abusive or unlawful.

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date and, when appropriate, communicated in-app or by email. Continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised Terms.

The governing law, venue, and formal dispute-resolution terms (including any arbitration or class-action-waiver language) will be finalized here before public launch. In the meantime, questions about these Terms can be sent via Support.
